Call for Expression of Interest to Host IASFM21 in 2027

Timelines

1. Submission Deadline: March 31, 2026
2. Submissions will be sent to the IASFM membership for an e-vote with a deadline of April 15, 2026.
3. The winner will be invited to submit a full proposal with a submission deadline of June 30, 2026
4. The full proposal will be sent to the IASFM membership for an e-vote with a deadline of July 15, 2026 and results will be communicated by July 25 2026

The IASFM Executive is inviting all those who may be interested in hosting the next IASFM conference in 2027 submit a short expression of interest outlining the following:

Proposed Budget (Upload File) - Note that this can be a very rough budget at this point. A complete budget doesn't need to be submitted until you have been selected to submit a final proposal to host.

Previous experience in organizing academic conferences and/or symposiums and/or workshops or other major events.

IASFM Conferences are attracting more and more participants each year and typically have over 300 registered participants. Given the nature of the field, IASFM Conferences draw a large and growing contingent of international scholars, researchers, practitioners, and students. IASFM Conferences also include open public lectures and special panel sessions that can attract a diverse audience from the local community in addition to the conference participants. There are a wide range of logistical, program planning, and media related activities, for instance, that are necessary for hosting a conference of this size and nature.
Have you considered the risks involved in the country you are choosing (for example, countries that have enacted legislation around LGBTQ2+ and other human rights which may affect those speaking on the issue) and what kind of things you are thinking about to mitigate the risk to presenters speaking about prohibited issues?
